The Butterfly's Wing brings you hand-made, one of a kind doll clothing for collectible and antique dolls. With an emphasis on vintage inspired designs, you will find unique clothing for BJD's (Puki, puki fee, little fee, Lati yellow and white) Kish, Sasha, Tonner’s Ann Estelle and Betsy McCall and Wilde Imagination's Ellowyne Wilde.
About me:
I learned to sew on my mother’s featherweight, making doll clothes for my Betsy McCall. After college, I made nearly all my daughters’ clothes. Once my girls got “too big” for hand smocked dresses, I turned to my dolls. At least they didn’t complain about color, or style. They didn’t get their clothes dirty, cut the bottom of the skirt with scissors, or outgrow them.
I hold degrees in Home and Consumer Economics, have designed many doll clothing patterns, and worked as a consultant for “Fancywork and Fashion”. I’ve taught many classes including “Dress that Naked Doll” as well as a variety of needlework and garment construction techniques at Seminars and Sewing Expos and have been published in Sew Beautiful and Doll Crafter.
